Interim CM Baqar vows full support to CPNE, assures release of dues

KARACHI: Interim Chief Minister Sindh Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqir in meeting with delegation of Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) said that government fully believes in freedom of press.

Regarding dues of newspapers, he gave instructions to Information Secretary said that through audit firm transparent audit should be conducted so that dues of newspapers are paid.

Create fair mechanism for distribution of advertisements and details of payments to media and distribution of advertisements should be displayed on website on daily basis.

On demand of CPNE, he directed Chairman Sindh Revenue Board to process payment of newspapers of CPNE. He directed all departments to ensure right to information to provide required information to public.

.On Mithi incident, he said SSP of area has been suspended and we are sure arrest killer soon. I am looking into matter myself. I gave instructions in this regard. He said that government has completed its preparations for conducting transparent election and Election Commission will be provided with assistance required.
