Interim CM Baqar expresses displeasure with DCs over failure in price control

KARACHI: Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar expressed displeasure with District Administration for their failure to enforce official prices notified by their offices and retailers continue to overcharge inflation-hit consumers.
Through letter addressed to divisional commissioners he has conveyed his displeasure over non-compliance of his directives issued from time to time for price control.
He directed commissioners to activate their district administration and take appropriate action for redressal of situation promptly under intimation to CM Secretariat. CM was displeased over complaints of public against sub registrars. CM in letter to senior member Sindh Board of Revenue expressed his displeasure on reports/complaints regarding corrupt practices/mal-governance in offices of sub registrars all over Sindh.
He said that despite clear instructions and emphasis of his government on transparency, “It has been business as usual in your subordinate offices of sub-registrars. Fleecing of public goes unabated.” CM in his letter added sub registrars did not attend their offices regularly and punctually leaving general public at mercy of their private deal-makers. Interim Chief Minister directed SMBR to look into matter personally and hold black sheep of revenue department accountable.
