ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb strongly condemned alleged vandalism, arson and violence by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers during their protest demonstrations across country.
PTI supporters took to streets in different parts of country against assassination attempt on party chief and former premier Imran Khan. Soon after Friday prayers, PTI workers protested in different cities of country, chanting slogans against government officials including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah.
“Those who have attacked state properties and set country on fire cannot be its well-wishers,” Marriyum said in a statement. Referring to Imran Khan’s politics, she said mindset of “foreign-funded Fitna” had polarised nation. His politics of confrontation and chaos had inflicted irreparable damage on country, she added.
She questioned why Punjab Police had so far not lodged First Information Report of firing incident.
According to law, she said, government hospital authored a medico-legal report in a criminal case, but Imran Khan was doing otherwise.
Marriyum said “foreign-funded Fitna” wanted civil war in country. Minister said Imran Khan had waged war against country after it exited from FATF grey list. Imran had also waged war against Pakistan to prevent foreign direct investment in country, she added. She said everything was fine in country as people had rejected politics of chaos and anarchy.
