KARACHI: A massive fire broke out in Shershah’s Scrap Market (Kabari Market) while rescue vehicles rushing to spot started fire extinguishing process. Fire brigade officials said that nine vehicles were busy extinguishing fire, but due to narrow streets, vehicles of fire brigade were facing difficulties and shopkeepers were also trying to save valuable goods.

Fire broke out in old spare parts shops early this morning and later spread to other shops. Cause of fire could not be ascertained yet. Rescue officials said that damage will be estimated after completion of fire extinguishing process. However, during rescue operation, a firefighter Muhammad Akram sustained burns injury. Condition of firefighter is out of danger.

Emergency has been imposed on water board crash and Sakhi Hasan hydrants after fire incident. Chief Executive officer of Water Board said that several tankers have been dispatched to accident site while in-charge hydrants cell is in full communication with fire brigade authorities.
