Indonesian envoy, Kh Asif discuss regional situation, ties

ISLAMABAD: Adam M Tugio Ambassador of Republic of Indonesia and Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif shared perceptions on important regional matters here yesterday. 

Defence Minister welcomed dignitary and conveyed that Pakistan attaches great value to its relations with Indonesia.

He expressed that Indonesia and Pakistan have maintained decade’s old close and cordial relations which have historical roots. He appreciated efforts of Indonesian government for providing platform for creating a favourable and long lasting peaceful environment in Asia Pacific Region in form of Jakarta International Defence Dialogue (JIDD).

Moreover, he reiterated that Pakistan strongly condemns terrorism in all its fora and manifestations. He commended Indonesian government success in fighting terrorism and its concerted efforts to dismantle terrorist’s networks. He informed that regional and global stability, security and peace are our common goals. He expressed desire that Pakistan is looking forward to further strengthen bilateral relations with Indonesia defence industries vis-à-vis regular exchange.

Visiting dignitary acknowledged existing scope and scale of cooperation in field of defence between two countries and desired to undertake joint ventures in respective field on progressive basis.
