‘Inauguration of 2nd CBT Korean Lab marks milestone in global workforce development’

KARACHI: 2nd Computer-Based Testing (CBT) Korean Lab was inaugurated here. Distinguished guests from Korea including Vice President of HDR Korea and officials from Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (HRD), showcased significant step towards enhancing Pakistan’s presence in global workforce.
Dr. Arshad Mahmood Secretary of Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and HRD shared that since 2006, approximately 13,000 individuals from Pakistan have successfully ventured to South Korea, contributing to their workforce.
He emphasised growing interest of European countries in hiring Pakistani youth and adopting South Korean Model for structured and effective recruitment process. He stated that Korean Model involves Computer-Based Testing centers and language learning facilities, providing comprehensive training to individuals. Model has been successful in imparting new skills to youth before placing them in decent jobs in South Korea.
Highlighting ongoing initiatives of Ministry, he disclosed that Ministry is on verge of finalising first National Immigration and Welfare Policy.
Government of Pakistan, through National Vocational and Technical Training Commission is investing Rs 5 billion in skill development for Pakistani youth. Vice President of HRD Korea kim Sung jae highlighted importance of CBT Korean Lab in fostering international collaborations and workforce development.
2nd CBT Lab is considered pioneering initiative for Pakistan, aligning itself with South Korean Model, which has proven successful in facilitating employment of Pakistani youth in South Korea.
Memento distribution ceremony took place symbolising collaborative efforts between Pakistan and South Korea in advancing workforce development and international cooperation.
