Imtiaz Sheikh urges for more dewatering pumps in Sindh

KARCHI: Meeting of Sub-Committee of Sindh Cabinet on Finance was held under chairmanship of Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Ahmad Sheikh. Sindh Minister of Labour and Human Resources Saeed Ghani, Health Secretary Zulfiqar Shah, General Administration Hanif Chana, Irrigation Secretary Sohail Qureshi, Rehabilitation Secretary Muhammad Ali Khoso, Special Finance Secretary Shahab Qamar Ansari and senior officers of relevant departments were present.

In meeting, proposals were given for provision of more dewatering pumps to drain water from flood-affected areas of Sindh where there is still water, improvement of the irrigation system before Rabi harvest and necessary relief for flood-affected people and areas.

Proposals were made for supply of materials and necessary funds for procurement of advanced robotic surgery systems for SIUT Larkana and BIUT Shaheed Benazir Abad. Ministers issued necessary orders on spot.

Instructions were given in meeting to take steps to drain water from flood affected areas as soon as possible, make sanitary arrangements in these areas and prepare arable land for sowing seeds as soon as possible and for this purpose.

It was decided that all available resources should be utilised and required resources should be arranged immediately. Instructions were given that irrigation system in Sindh should be improved before Rabi harvest and for this purpose, instructions of Sindh Cabinet should be followed.
