Imtiaz Sheikh directs KE to rectify Gadap Town consumers’ bills

Karachi: Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh, Minister Sajid Jokhi, CEO of Electric Monis Alvi, Secretary Energy Abubakar Madani held meeting. On directives of meeting power of Gadap Town was restored. Minister of Energy Sindh directed COK Electric to establish facility centre for convenience of public on which CEO K Electric assured to establish centre within day.

COK Electric assured Sindh Energy Minister that he will visit Gadap Town and meet relevant representatives and people to find solution.

Complaints of load shedding and over-billing are common from other areas, He said that it is our duty to respect fasting month and at least give relief to people in holy month.

There is arrears of over 250 million while giving details of three feeders of Gadap Town, CEO K Electric said that there is 54 percent theft on Danish Farm feeder and 75 percent line losses.

70 percent theft and 85 percent line losses on late feeder and 66 percent theft on Agha Shaheed Leader and while line losses are 82 percent on which Imtiaz Shaikh said that complaints of over-billing should be resolved, they will send over-bills to consumers, so why do people pay bills?

Sajid Jokhio said that if customer goes to K Electric with complaint, it is not only difficult but impossible to meet K Electric staff. He said that we do not have customer care centre in Gadap.

He said that there is no water in our masajid even for ablution for four days.
