Imtiaz Shaikh says Thar coal energy generation to be game changer

KARACHI: Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Shaikh said that Sindh government was trying to bring Thar coal to work to meet energy needs of country so that country could be saved from economic crisis by saving huge amount of money spent on importing oil and gas.
During a meeting with officials of Shanghai Electric Company he was briefed on use of underground water at Thar and supply of water to Thar Coal Project from Nabi Sir Vijehar pipeline. Imtiaz Shaikh said that Sindh government was working expeditiously on projects in Thar Coal Field to meet country’s energy needs from Thar Coal Power Project and trying to provide all possible facilities to companies working on projects.
He said that under leadership of Pakistan Peoples’ Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sindh government had a vision that ‘Thar will change Pakistan’.
