LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz slammed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, saying latter’s plan to sabotage China-Pakistan Economic Corridor had been foiled. In connection with reopening of Khunjerab Pass after three years for trade between China and Pakistan, Maryam Nawaz said, “It is matter of immense delight that Khunjerab Pass has been opened in 2023 after three years. I would like to felicitate leaderships and masses of both China and Pakistan.”

In terms of Pakistan-China friendship, she said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese President Xi Jinping were playing vital role in bid to further strengthen ties between two countries.

She said opening of Khunjerab Pass will pave way for addressing difficulties faced by both nations. Heaping praise on PML-N supremo over CPEC, she lamented masses would not face severe economic hardships if trade between two countries continued with “Speed of PML-N.”

----Lahore High Court is set to hear contempt of court plea against Maryam Nawaz today. Two-member bench headed by Justice Ali Baqar Najafi will hold hearing regarding contempt of court plea filed by Advocate Shahid Rana against PML-N senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz.

Earlier Single bench rejected contempt court petition after which an appeal has been filed by advocate challenging verdict of single bench. In petition, advocate stated that PML-N senior leader Maryam Nawaz levelled allegations against judges of Supreme Court, adding that accused is guilty of contempt of court and should be punished as per law.

She accused senior judges of judiciary, plea stated. He said that there is proper platform to report if there is any objection against judge. Hereby, court is urged to start contempt court proceedings against Maryam Nawaz. On March 30, contempt plea was filed in Lahore High Court against Maryam Nawaz for scandalising senior judges.
