LAHORE: Former Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that PTI founder Imran Khan would not make any deal come what may. Speaking on private TV show, Fawad Chaudhry stated that only four people knew about plan to dissolve assembly at time of no-confidence motion.

“Imran Khan, Arif Alvi, Attorney General and Fawad Chaudhry were aware of development to dissolve assembly,” he said. He said that PTI founder met Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa four days before no-confidence motion. Imran Khan was told that issues would be managed for him, he added.

Fawad Chaudhry said that PTI founder advised Gen Bajwa to hold elections after assembly was dissolved. “Idea to dissolve Punjab Assembly came from Shah Mahmood Qureshi,” Chaudhry revealed. He added that PML-N and PPP were ready to hold elections at that time. He admitted that it was big mistake to cut ties with Gen Bajwa.

He also advised Faiz Hameed and Imran Khan not to allow Nawaz Sharif to go abroad. He added that PTI believed that Gen Bajwa would manage things for them but situation got out of his control as well.

He was of view that PML-N leaders Rana Tanveer, Malik Ahmed Khan and Khawaja Asif used to meet Gen Bajwa at that time. Gen Bajwa was told by PML-N leaders that PTI government lost popularity. He added that PTI’s rise came as result of decisions made after no-confidence motion.

Responding to question about potential deal, Fawad Chaudhry asserted that Imran Khan would never make deal.
