Islamabad: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that confessional statement of Azam Khan, former Principal Secretary to former Prime Minister Imran Khan has exposed Imran Khan’s conspiracy narrative based on diplomatic cypher.

“Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan tarnished reputation of state institutions through cypher conspiracy. He should be punished for staging drama,” he said while addressing press conference here. Sanaullah said former foreign minister and PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi was fully involved in concocting cypher narrative.

Sanaullah said former PM’s confessional statement against Imran was charge sheet against him. “PTI Chairman will be held accountable for this crime. This is matter of national interest,” he added.

Taking to twitter, Rana Sanaullah castigated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan alleging that latter had compromised interests of country. He asserted, “PTI leadership was acting against interests of country”.

“State institutions’ prestige has been harmed by fake drama. Those responsible for cipher conspiracy should be brought to justice,” Sanaullah maintained.

Meanwhile, Federal Investigation Agency summoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief on July 25 (Tuesday) in “cipher conspiracy” case. FIA summoned deposed premier at FIA headquarters with all relevant documents.

If PTI Chief will not appear before agency, action will be taken against him, said FIA notice. Development came after then-Principal Secretary of former Prime Minister Azam Khan recorded statement in which he called ex-premier’s use of US cipher “Conspiracy” to “Manipulate for creating narrative against state institutions.”
