LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said that he would announce assemblies’ dissolution on December 17 a day on which party is holding its power show at Lahore’s Liberty Chowk.
Speaking at press conference, he claimed that meeting with PTI leaders featured discussion on most pressing problems. Khan lambasted current administration for “Disgusting conduct of dismissing cases of largest mafias.” He said such behaviour was unheard of even in banana republic. He claimed that various books had been released internationally that exposed crimes committed by Sharif family and Asif Ali Zardari. He said British news outlet produced documentary about him and his political competitors.
He claimed that Pervez Musharraf had originally given them NRO and retired Gen Bajwa handed them NRO-II. “Pakistan really needs a strong Army, but that can happen only in absence of outside interference,” said Khan.
Lamenting that PTI leaders had been target of animosity for last seven months, he asked who was responsible for Toshakhana case and who was detaining PTI leaders. Senator Azam Swati was subjected to heavy punishment, according to Khan, who was speaking on behalf of Senator.
Khan said that he believes Pakistan was purposefully driven towards default, adding that default would have an impact on nation’s security. He took a swipe at Suleman Shehbaz, seeking an explanation from him as to how Rs 16 billion ended up in accounts of Ramzan Sugar Mill’s employees, calling manner in which Suleman Shehbaz was greeted in Pakistan shocking. In order to find out reason for four witnesses’ deaths, former premier also questioned Suleman Shehbaz. According to Khan, if assemblies were to be dissolved, elections would take place within 90 days.
