Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has sent notice to Dr Rizwan Taj doctor heading PIMS medical board that prepared and released his medical report.

Notice served by Imran Khan’s lawyer urged Dr Rizwan Taj to pay Rs 10 billion for “Deliberate and malicious representations through preparation of fabricated and false medical report of client”. “Information shared in report, of Imran’s tests conducted after his arrest on May 9 is false, untrue, baseless and defamatory in nature,” notice read.

Notice also called on doctor to make public apology to Imran Khan, both on national and international media.

It further warned that failure to do above within 14 days will result in legal proceedings being initiated against doctor, possibly including criminal proceedings and filing of complaint against him before Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and other relevant forums.

Yesterday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf sent Rs 10 billion defamation notice to Minister for National Health Services Abdul Qadir Patel over his ‘shameful allegations’ in press conference wherein he raised questions pertaining to Imran Khan’s medical status.

“Medical report is saying that when we talked to Imran Khan for long time, his actions were not that of fit man,” Patel alleged.
