LAHORE: Top Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Usman Dar squarely blamed PTI Chief for May 9 events, stating that former Prime Minister used human shield to avoid his arrest and himself issued instructions for attacking sensitive installations.

Dar, who did not appear in any television show after he was set free following his arrest in connection with May 9 events, made these startling revelations during an exclusive episode on private TV channel. Spilling beans, Dar said that there were clear instructions relayed that in event of PTI chief’s arrest, sensitive installations should be attacked to pressure military. “These directions had come directly from PTI chief,” he added.

Dar, who served as special adviser to former prime minister on youth affairs, charged PTI chief with masterminding May 9 events, saying “These were planned at Zaman Park”.

He said that goal behind these attacks was to pressure military and extract resignation from Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir. Dar accused PTI chief of running an anti-Pakistan narrative.

“Whatever happened at Judicial Complex in Islamabad and Zaman Park in Lahore was result this brainwashing,” alleged Dar.  He disclosed that PTI’s long march in October last year was meant to stop posting of Asim Munir as Chief of Army Staff.

He blamed PTI chairman for present condition of party which is in tatters after seeing scores of party stalwarts and loyalists leave for its anti-Pakistan narrative.
