Imran Khan having increase in blood pressure, anxiety in jail

KARACHI: Former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is imprisoned in Adiala Central Jail for last one and a half year, has had an increase in blood pressure and heart rate as he has been suffering from anxiety for a few weeks.

The source has revealed that the blood pressure of Imran Khan has reached at 130.80 and his heart rate is 50 while his appetite has not decreased. It has been one and a half years since he was imprisoned. He was imprisoned in District Jail Attock on August 5, 2023.

Later, on the orders of the Islamabad High Court, he was transferred to Adiala Jail on September 27, 2023. Jail sources said that when he came to jail, his blood pressure was 110.120 and 70.80, and his heart rate was between 43 and 45, which was very ideal. However, he has been suffering from anxiety for a few weeks and his blood pressure has been at 130.80, while his heart rate has also been noted to be above 50. He has been suffering from tinnitus and ringing in the ears for the past few months. Sources said that he has not fully recovered yet. He is taking the medicine prescribed by his personal physician. Jail sources said that his appetite has not decreased. The previous day, he had pomegranate juice, 2 boiled eggs, porridge, curd and coffee for breakfast, while he had mutton cooked in desi ghee for lunch. He is also exercising regularly in the jail. In addition, he has access to 16 TV channels and 2 newspapers, while he is also medically examined three times a day.
