Imran Khan fires broadsides on NSC huddle

Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan said that PDM coalition government has called meeting of National Security Council (NSC) in an attempt to use national security as pretext for postponement of elections.
Top civil and military leadership of country are scheduled to participate in Friday’s all-important NSC meeting, convened by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while heads of country’s intelligence agencies will brief participants on national security situation.
He said that government brought in an “Unconstitutional bill” on Supreme Court and National Assembly resolution against judiciary.
“Now today an NSC meeting has been called to try and use security as pretext for postponement of elections. This will pit armed forces directly against not just judiciary but also nation,” he added.
Imran Khan said that his political party will perform better if it is given another chance to rule country. Imran Khan made statement while addressing PTI workers during an Iftar event outside Zaman Park.
PTI Chairman reached camps established to secure his Zaman Park residence in Lahore and stayed with workers till Iftar. Earlier, Imran Khan claimed that PDM government is afraid of losing polls.
Government is petrified of losing elections because all opinion polls show they are going to be decimated, Imran Khan Khan told Al Jazeera in an exclusive interview at his residence.
Government is frightened by increasing popularity of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan added.
