Lahore: Expressing severe concerns over country’s judicial system, former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said that system does not protect people’s fundamental rights.

In an interview with a private TV channel, Khan lambasted justice system, saying that being an ex-premier he could not lodge his FIR of an assassination attempt on him. “My party is in power in Punjab but provincial police could not register my FIR.” It is clear that “They” prepared plan to kill him, PTI chief said, adding that things in this regard will come to fore in next two to four days.

“No place left for you when state turns against you and all of its powers start utilising against you,” Khan said while referring to cases lodged against him and his party leadership. He added that they were subjected to all kinds of oppression, adding that he felt that he was an “Enemy of country or traitor”.

Slamming establishment yet again, PTI leader said that after FIRs, audio leaks started surfacing. “Who was taping secure phone line of Prime Minister? It is violation of official secret act,” he added.

Imran Khan also claimed that former Chief of Army Staff General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa was very close to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

“Plan was to bring Shehbaz Sharif into power and remove me,” Imran Khan said. He claimed that former Chief of Army Staff Gen (retd) Bajwa assured PML-N leader Khawaja Asif of victory at time of no-confidence motion. He claimed that plan to remove his federal government and make Shehbaz Sharif Prime Minister was already made.
