Imran in ‘city of lights’ deemed by-elections as ‘referendum’

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan deemed by-elections as a 'referendum'. Addressing a rally ahead of by-elections, PTI Chairman reiterated that his government was toppled through a foreign plot, saying that in by-elections, destiny of country will be decided as country has entered into 'decisive' phase.

Former Prime Minister criticised current government and said that robbers leave country after looting money and return with NRO. Describing Karachi as economic hub of Pakistan, PTI Chairman said that when Karachi faces challenges, Pakistan has to suffer. Expressing his gratitude to people of Karachi for welcoming him, PTI Chief said that in past, political movements always started from provincial capital of Sindh as people of Karachi are politically 'enlightened'. Saying that after end of his government, he held his second public rally in Karachi, in which the people of Karachi supported him wholeheartedly.

Giving his take on inflation, former Imran Khan said that current government has broken records of last 50 years in terms of ballooning inflation.

Saying that it is up to public to decide their fate, PTI Chief reiterated that history would not forgive those who allowed looters to come to power. Lambasting Prime Minister Shehbaz, Imran said that no chief executive except Shehbaz can talk about 'slavery'. He posed a question for Muttahida Quami Movement-Pakistan) and said, "Whether MQM-P is happy by standing by side of Asif Ali Zardari". Giving his call to people of Sindh, Imran said that after long march, he would go to Sindh and free people of province from Zardari mafia. Talking about his government's performance during coronavirus outbreak, former Prime Minister cited a World Bank report saying that Pakistan has been highest provider of employment opportunities during Covid-19. He said that global institutions have praised PTI government's policies on endemic. Seperately, speaking to lawyers former prime minister said that nation is facing a "decisive time" as if "big thieves" keep getting NROs then country would not have a future. He said that lawyers understand need for upholding law and that is why they should support his cause.
