GUJRANWALA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz senior vice president Maryam Nawaz flayed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, saying he was kowtowing to United States after causing uproar over US conspiracy behind his ouster. Addressing convention, Maryam Nawaz took dig at deposed premier, saying, "Imran, who used to label his opponents as imported, is himself ready to get exported."

She asked Imran Khan to see PML-N's convention to know youth was standing by PML-N.

Continuing to berate Imran Khan, she said, "People of Gujranwala are aware of Imran Khan. Everybody is aware of his failed sit-in in 2014. "

She reminded that Imran Khan of purported audios of PTI leaders, saying, "Imran cannot bear my statements." Claiming that Khan was addicted to drugs, she asked, "Is it fair to leave country's fate on Imran's mercy." Bashing Khan over his agreement with International Monetary Fund she said, "After reaching an agreement with IMF, Imran raises questions about inflation." Schooling former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, she said, "Imran handed over biggest portfolio within his party to Punjab's biggest thief." She asked people of Gujranwala to get ready for elections and extend their support to PML-N.

Meanwhile, Khawaja Asif said PML-N Maryam Nawaz's return to country was proving fruitful for party. Addressing convention, Asif admitted country was facing severe economic hardships, saying, "Rulers are facing severe challenges to cope with to take country out of quagmire." Taking dig at Imran Khan he said, "All conspiracies of Imran Khan have been undone."

He assailed Khan's "Jail Bharo Movement", saying, "Imran's court arrest drive has also faced big setback. Imran himself secured bail but he asked his stalwarts and workers to go to jail." Recalling PML-N supremo returned to country and went to jail by holding hands of her daughter, Asif said [Nawaz] maintained country's respect in this way. He vowed that Nawaz Sharif would return to country.
