ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau filed another toshakhana reference to accountability court against Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf’s founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi.

In reference, it has been said that national exchequer has suffered loss of Rs 3,28,51300. It prayed court to award sentence to accused. Reference was filed against founder PTI and Bushra Bibi over Bulgarian jewellery set given by Saudi Crown Prince. It stated that Bushra Bibi was given Bulgarian jewelry set on occasion of her visit to Saudi Arabia from May 7 to 10, 2021. Jewellery set includes one ring, one bracelet, one necklace and one pair of earrings. As per evidence collected during investigation, founder PTI and Bushra Bibi illegally kept jewellery set.  Deputy Military Secretary on May 18, 2021 informed Section Officer Toshakhana regarding assessment of value and declaring but jewellery set was not submitted to toshakhana.

It said that Bulgarian Company sold necklace for 300,000 euros and earrings for 80 thousand euros to Franchise Solvent Trading Saudi Arabia on May 25, 2018. Information about price of bracelets and rings couldn’t be received from company. On May 28, 2021, total price of jewellery set is about 7,56,61600 Pakistani rupees, price of necklace included in jewellery set is Rs 5,64,96000 while the price of earrings included in set is 1,50,65 600 rupees. Investigating Officer Mohsin Haroon and Case Officer Waqar ul Hasan submitted Toshakhana reference to Accountability Court’s Registrar’s Office.
