ISLAMABAD: International Monitory Fund demanded Pakistan to impose taxes on privileged class and remove subsidies, said Kristalina Geogieva Managing Director IMF during interview with German Television. She said people from government and private sector (who have good earning) needed to add parts.
Rich people of Pakistan should not be facilitated by subsidies, she continued, subsidies should be transferred to people who are really needy. IMF is clear that subsidies should only benefit to deserving people. We want to protect Pakistan’s poor people.
Pakistan needs strict action to drive country instead of restructuring debt. She said we are sad upon recent flood devastation in Pakistan. Flood affected one-third population of country.
