ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has said its primary aim at United Nations (UN) with regard to Jammu and Kashmir is to secure recognised right of self-determination for Kashmiri people. In a message on UN Day, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to world body,
Munir Akram said Pakistan has welcomed UN Secretary-General statement that Jammu and Kashmir dispute should be resolved on basis of UN Charter and Security Council resolutions.
He said UN Charter and resolutions prescribe that final disposition of state of Jammu and Kashmir will be determined through a free and fair plebiscite under UN auspices.
Munir Akram said Pakistan will continue to press for implementation of UN Security Council resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
