ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has sought reply again from PTI Chairman Imran Khan within seven days in contempt of court case. Court has appointed Munir A Malik, Aitzaz Ahsan and Makhdoom Ali Khan as amicus curiae. Attorney General opposed to appoint amicus curiae.
A five members larger bench of IHC presided over by Chief Justice (CJ) Athar Minallah took up case for hearing. Other members of bench are Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Justice Miangul hassan Aurangzeb, Justice Babar Sattar and justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri. Imran Khan along with his lawyers Hamid Khan, Shoaib Shaheen, Niaz Ullah Niazi and others appeared in court. Attorney General, Additional Attorney General and Advocate General also appeared in court. CJ IHC inquired from Hamid Khan will you be counsel of Imran Khan. I am happy that you are counsel for Imran Khan in this matter. I did not expect such statement at all. Such statement from your client about subordinate judiciary was not expected. Subordinate judiciary is not judiciary of elite. It needs to be given importance. Importance has to be given to subordinate judiciary.
He remarked I am not personally satisfied with reply. You all know under what circumstances subordinate judiciary is living. Credit goes to Imran Khan that he built Judicial Complex at our behest. May time gone by does not come back, words uttered from tongue don’t return. Every word of Imran Khan is necessary being leader of a political party. Threat was given to a female judge in these words of Imran Khan.
