IHC issues stay order against auction of Islamabad cricket grounds

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued stay order against the auction of Islamabad cricket grounds.  The case came up for hearing before a single bench of IHC led by Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan  here FRIDAY. Qazi Adil advocate appeared before the court on behalf of the petitioner.

The court while accepting the stay order plea of former chairman MCI Sardar Mehtab barred the metropolitan Corporation from renting out the Islamabad cricket grounds. The petitioner had taken the plea Metropolitan Corporation had evolved plan to abolish free cricket in the cricket grounds. Qazi Adil the counsel for the petitioner told the  court citizens are allowed to play cricket in the grounds by making payment due to outsourcing  grounds.

Administrator MCI is not empowered to outsource the grounds. Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan while issuing stay order restrained metropolitan corporation from renting out cricket grounds.
