IHC issues notice to ECP for delaying LG polls in ICT

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued notice to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) seeking its explanation over delaying Local Government (LG) polls in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), which were earlier scheduled to be held on December 31.

 Hearing petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Jamaat-e-Islami seeking to nullify ECP’s decision to postpone LG polls in ICT, court also issued notice to Attorney-General for Pakistan to assist it on matter. Plea was heard by IHC Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir. Now court will hear plea today.
