Islamabad High Court declares Parvez Elahi's MPO 3 detention null and void, orders immediate release. Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri presided over the case, directing Elahi to appear in court next Tuesday. Until then, the court has barred him from engaging in any provocative activities or making statements to the media. Elahi's lawyer argued that the Lahore High Court had already ordered his release on September 1, and the Islamabad Police's arrest violated this order.

The Lahore High Court had issued a show-cause notice to Islamabad IG Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan in relation to the case. Elahi was rearrested near his residence shortly after the Lahore High Court's release order, sparking condemnation from various quarters.
