IHC gives time to AAG to provide details of Toshakhana

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has accepted Additional Attorney General (AAG) plea for granting him more time to provide details of Tosha Khana.

Petition filed by lawyer Abuzar Suleman Khan Niazi seeking details of gifts received by heads of state from foreign countries from 1947 uptill now came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb.

Court accepted AAG plea for giving him more time to provide details of gifts. Court remarked “Are you demanding details of Toshakhana record which have already been made public.”

Counsel for petitioner told court what record has been made public it pertains to period from 2002 to 2023. We have requested that record of Toshakhana from 1947 uptill now be made public.

AAG told court we will be able to provide complete record from 1947 till now if it is available with us. Counsel for petitioner told court Toshakhana record from 1990 to 2002 is available with government as it has already accepted it in Lahore High Court. But this record has not been made public.

AAG told court more information have to be obtained from government in respect of Toshakhana record. Therefore, time be given. Court while accepting AAG plea adjourned hearing of case.
