ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) while stopping police from filing challan in Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) in case of threatening additional sessions judge Zeba Chaudhry by Imran Khan has directed PTI Chairman to join investigation of case.

Petition seeking dismissal of case pertaining to hurling threats by Imran Khan to female additional sessions judge Zeba Chaudhry came up for hearing before two members bench of IHC presided over by Chief Justice IHC Athar Minallah yesterday. CJ IHC inquired during hearing of case has police filed challan against Imran Khan. Advocate General (AG) Islamabad said Imran Khan is not joining investigation. Police is not being given access to Imran Khan. CJ IHC remarked police man standing in uniform is a state.

If mistake is committed by police then court will decide on it. If we don’t comply with law then how we will make it binding on others to abide by law. This is a test case for investigation officer too. Law will take its course. Every one should have trust on system. If wrong allegation has been leveled against Imran Khan then investigation officer should remove it in his investigation on his own. Counsel for Imran Khan said either case can be made or otherwise order be issued for stopping from taking any punitive action. Court directed investigation officer to conduct investigation in transparent manner in case. CJ IHC remarked here prosecution branch does not exist then who will give advice to it. What is need of JIT. Is there any other proof except a speech. Advocate General Jahangir Jadoon said links of this case go to Shahbaz Gill case. Court adjourned hearing of case till September 15.
