IGP-led meeting decides strategy for operation against bandits

KARACHI: IGP Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon in meeting decided to devise an extraordinary strategy for operation against bandits of katcha area in Sindh.

In this context, decisions were made keeping in mind concrete and effective measures. DIG Sukkur, SSPs, Ghotki, Sukkur, Shikarpur and Kashmore/Kandhkot, participated in meeting separately, discussed results and success of measures like extraordinary strategy and intelligence-based operations against dacoits of katcha area through video link.

Briefing was given and operation was unanimously supported and approved. CPLC Chief Zubair Habib was also present in meeting.

IG Sindh said that technical support from CPLC would also be made possible for organised operations against dacoits in rough areas and safe recovery of hostages and in this regard, cooperation of police and CPLC would definitely be useful and beneficial.

IGP Sindh said that all measures had been taken to provide monthly allowance of Rs 10,000 to police personnel posted in katcha areas.

No guard or gunman or other staff would be given leave and all responsibility would be assigned to respective SSPs and they would be held responsible. IGP Sindh said that mechanism of permanent contact with families of abductees should be made regarding recovery of their dear ones.

Memon said that all possible steps should be taken to keep close watch on those who come to undeveloped areas with their help and support by taking people of area into confidence.

He said that all other stakeholders and law enforcement agencies should also be taken on board in measures against dacoits in katcha area and their suggestions, advice and support should be given special attention.
