IGP visits police training centre, inaugurates Mess

KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon said that in order to change behaviour of police positive, it was necessary to improve training of police because when institutions would be improved, all aspects of policing would also improve.

Inaugurating Mess no. 3 and park at Shahid Hayat Police Training Centre, he thanked Sindh Chief Minister for abolishing food expenses of trainees and announcing to pay same by government.

Earlier Rs 3,000 per month were being collected from recruits for Mess cutting. Later, IGP Sindh  planted sapling in training centre. He was told by training centre Principal Syed Muhammad Abbas Rizvi regarding matters of renovation and decoration of Mess no. 3 that earlier had capacity of 250 trainee recruits which has now been increased to 350-400.

Rizvi gave briefing on training issues of recruits including inter/upper school courses and all  required and available facilities in detail.

He said two water tankers in centre were made usable after repair, however, there was an urgent need for water supply line for clean and fresh drinking water.
