IGP Sindh visits Larkana, praises services of martyred policeman

KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon arrived in Larkana and offered condolence to Ghulam Rasool Leghari, brother of martyred policeman Ghulam Abbas Leghari, who embraced Shahadat in terrorist attack on Karachi Police Office few days back.

Talking to media Ghulam Nabi Memon said that whole world saw that Sindh Police fought terrorists bravely, martyr Ghulam Abbas Laghari got status of martyrdom by fulfilling his duty, martyrs are alive, while Sindh government and Sindh Police is with martyr and martyr will get package from government of Sindh, we will not forget martyr.

IGP said that he has presented his case in Sukkur High Court and detailed decision is awaited, while case of kidnapping for ransom in Sindh is confined to three districts of province, Ghotki, Shikarpur and Kandhkot at Kashmore who have been provided with best resources including budget, APCs and manpower.

He said that Cabinet has also approved Rs 2.79 billion. He said that we are in touch with relevant organisations to procure latest weapons for which we need No Objection Certificate and police also need training for usage of weapons.  In this regard Chief Minister also discussed in last apex committee, three districts will be equipped with modern weapons soon. DIGP Larkana Range Mazhar Nawaz Sheikh, SSP Dr. Muhammad Imran Khan and police officials were present.
