KARACHI: Inspector General of Police Sindh, Riffat Mukhtar Raja, emphasized the continuous pursuit of learning and reading habits within the police force.

This he said during the closing ceremony of a three-day special training program. The session, titled "Specialized Training on Better handling of Transgenders Complainants and Victims at Police Stations"., was organized by the School of Finance and Information Technology of the Central Police Office Karachi in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). Addressing the participants, IG Sindh Riffat Mukhtar Raja highlighted that the busyness and workloads often lead officers to abandon the habit of study and reading after joining the police force, resulting in a significant loss in the learning process. He encouraged the importance of cultivating a culture of continuous learning.

IG Sindh acknowledged that overlooking professional training and considering ourselves masters in all aspects, hinders the learning process. He emphasized that being entrusted with the responsibility of protecting others is not just a profession but a form of worship. IG Sindh expressed gratitude for the opportunity to conduct sessions, seminars, and workshops to make policing more people-friendly and promote positive behavior in field and police station policing. He stressed the significance of these initiatives in establishing a good reputation for the police department in the eyes of the public. During the session, participants gained insights into addressing citizens' complaints, especially those of victims of violence and transgender individuals. IG Sindh expressed confidence that the officers and officials who benefited from the training would become beacons for their colleagues, fostering a positive trend in police stations.

DIG Training, DIG Establishment, Transgender social worker Shehzadi Roy, and others attended the occasion. In conclusion, IG Sindh congratulated the participants on the successful completion of the training, distributing certificates as a testament to their commitment to enhancing policing practices.
