Iftar-dinner at District Central: PPP aims to serve people, says Dr Asim Hussain

KARACHI: Deputy Commissioner and Administrator District Central Taha Saleem hosted an iftar party in honour of dignitaries of District in which number of dignitaries from religious, political, social, literary, journalism and other fields participated.

Senior leader of Peoples’ Party and former Petroleum Minister Dr. Asim Hussain specially participated.  Journalist community took full advantage of opportunity and asked important questions along with informal discussions with leaders and other personalities.

Answering question, Dr. Asim Hussain said that goal of Pakistan Peoples’ Party is to serve people. Providing an opportunity to sit together is welcome initiative. He said that situation is bad, everyone has to be gentle. He said that residents of District Central should be united beyond politics. I am here and will not waste any opportunity to serve people of this district. It is different thing that there are obstacles in way of public welfare works. 

Taha Saleem said that last year too we held iftar-dinner on two different days in which on one day other dignitaries including social and religious people of city participated while on second day iftar was held in honour of journalists. We invited them so that all people can sit together and talk to each other and today I feel happy to see all guests together. He said that due to sincere cooperation of journalist community, performance of district reaches people and authorities, due to which we also get an opportunity to check our performance.

Municipal Commissioner Central Afaq Saeed thanked guests. Participating guests asked Taha Saleem to organise grand iftar-dinner to people of District. Tribute were given to efforts made by Taha Saleem for providing better social and urban environment and facilities.
