‘If US mediates, Pakistan may break stalemate with India on Kashmir dispute’

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan said it would welcome facilitation by United States to break stalemate with India on longstanding Kashmir dispute.
"Regarding Pakistan-India relations and facilitation by third parties, including United States, Pakistan has always said that we would welcome international community to play their role in promoting peace in region including in facilitating dialogue and resolution of core dispute between Pakistan and India," Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch told reporters at weekly briefing here. She was responding to question about recent statement made by Pakistan's Ambassador to US Masood Khan, who spoke about possible role by US on resolution of Kashmir dispute. To a question about possible visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in April 2021, spokesperson said Foreign Office would not comment on speculative reports.
Meanwhile, at invitation of President of World Economic Forum, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will attend Forum's annual meeting from January 16-20, 2023 in Davos, Switzerland.
Foreign Minister and Minister of State Hina Rabbani Khar will participate in number of WEF events on contemporary global and regional issues.
Foreign Minister and Minister of State will meet participating dignitaries including political leaders, corporate executives, heads of international organisations and leading media and civil society personalities.
