ICC delegation visits SSU Headquarters

KARACHI: Delegation from International Cricket Council (ICC) headed by Security Head of ICC Recce Team David Masker visited Special Security Unit (SSU) Headquarters, as part of preparations for upcoming ICC Cricket Champions Trophy in Pakistan.

Visit aimed to strengthen collaboration between law enforcement agencies and ICC to ensure safe and secure environment for players, officials and fans during prestigious event.

Commandant SSU Anwar Khetran provided comprehensive briefing on security arrangements to be implemented during matches scheduled at National Bank Stadium in Karachi. He emphasised importance of coordinated approach to security, which includes crowd management, emergency response plans and collaboration with various stakeholders.

DIG Security and Emergency Services Division Dr. Maqsood Ahmed also met with delegation and encouraged all stakeholders to maintain high performance standards and to communicate any resource needs to management promptly, ensuring that all necessary support is in place for successful tournament.

Head of ICC delegation expressed their appreciation for dedicated efforts of SSU and reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with local authorities to enhance security measures for event.

Dr. Maqsood said that ICC Champions Trophy is key event in international cricket calendar, showcasing top teams from around world, Pakistan is safe country for international level tournaments, we can provide safe and enjoyable experience for all.
