Human Rights violations in held-Kashmir at peak

There is no denying that Kashmir is the main territorial conflict between India and Pakistan which is evident from the fact that three wars have been fought between the two arch-rival Asian states on this issue since the Independence of Pakistan. If we add the limited-scale Kargil war to this list, then the number rises to four. The issue is still burning and 1.5 billion Kashmiris are still living a life of suppression and subjugation in the absence of Human Rights.

Since the occupation of the state of Jammu and Kashmir by Indian forces in 1947, the people of Kashmiri are suffering as they are ruled y occupational forces contrary to their wishes.

During the process of occupation by Indian forces, half a million Kashmiris were martyred and thousands injured. It is saddening to note that this cruel state of affairs remains so after more than seven decades. On the contrary, the situation has further worsened under the Modi Regime which has unleashed a fresh reign of terror in the held valley which can be gauged from the fact that an estimated ten lac occupation forces are present in occupied Kashmir and are committing serious human rights violations in the held valley.

A recent report says that there is at least one soldier deployed for an average family consisting of six to eight persons.

Modi-led BJP has totally changed the demographics of the Kashmir state which is basically part of the wider Modi’s Hindu nationalist agenda.

Last week Pakistan along with Kashmiris marked the grim anniversary of the 5 August 2019 illegal move by the Modi government, to alter the demographics of the occupied state and to alter its internationally recognized disputed status at the cost of the Kashmiri majority population.

During the last three years since the August 5 illegal steps, the Modi regime has issued millions of fake domiciles to non-Kashmiris in a bid to create Hindu-dominant constituencies and take control of the constituencies from indigenous Kashmiris, who are made to go through a lot of hassle and difficulties while obtaining domicile for their homeland. This means that India wants to obliterate the identity of Kashmiris which is against the UN Resolution which has given them the right to self-determination through Referendum in 1948.

Right now the main leadership of the Kashmiri people are lodged in prisons where they are facing extreme conditions with no basic rights secured and being subjected to inhuman treatment including extreme violence.

The latest example is that of Yasin Malik, who has become the latest victim of the Indian policies and has been lodged in jail under fake cases of funding terror activities.

The purpose of the observance of the August 5 anniversary in Pakistan was to highlight the brutal reign of terror being unleashed on innocent Kashmiris in the occupied valley.

The entire Pakistani nation from PM Shahbaz Sharif to Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and down not only condemned the ongoing human rights violations in the held valley but also called upon the world to take note of the Indian atrocities.

In fact, the world pressure can make India to adhere to the UN Resolution on Kashmiri which calls for a plebiscite in Kashmiri to determine its position.

But India is not willing to do so because the Kashmiris do not want to live under the Indian occupation and India is forcibly holding control of their fate which is against the UN Resolution and the international human rights laws.

Just imagine, Kashmiris are deprived of their land, constituencies, and other resources with main jobs being converted to Hindus who have been recently issued fake domiciles in held Kashmir.

As noted by Pakistan’s youngest Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in his message, over six hundred innocent Kashmiris have been killed during the current year. No one is safe from the Indian atrocities and even Human Rights defenders are being subjected to extreme treatment and reprehensible treatment by the occupied forces in held held-valley.

India’s next steps seem to be even more ruthless which is evident from its fresh moves which include its bid to host international moots like the G-20 conferences in the held valley to send the world a message that Kashmir is part of India. This is an extreme bid by the Modi regime and the world countries should not accept any such invitation to come to the occupied valley for the sake of the rights of the innocent Kashmiris.

In fact, the Modi regime has a total disregard for the world community. That’s why it is going with all ruthless measures to subjugate Kashmiris by force.

Time has the world should exert pressure on the Modi regime to stop their unilateral steps in the held valley and adhere to the UN resolution on Kashmiri to hold a plebiscite in the held valley.
