Huge cache of arms, IEDs, ammunition recovered from Chaman: ISPR

Rawalpindi: Security forces recovered huge cache of arms, ammunition and improvised explosive devices from terrorist hideout in Balochistan’s Chaman district, military’s media wing said.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said an intelligence-based operation (IBO) operation was carried out in Rehman Kahul area of Chaman to clear suspected hideout of militants linked to recent terrorist activities, including incidents of planting of IEDs in Chaman and surrounding areas.
“As result of continuous technical surveillance and reconnaissance of area, a location of terrorists was identified and security forces were employed to check it,” ISPR said.
Extensive search and sanitisation was carried out in area and huge cache of arms and ammunition including IEDs was recovered, ISPR added.
“Pakistan Army in step with nation, remains determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan,” military added in its statement.
Development came day after security forces killed three terrorists in Awaran district of Balochistan during an intelligence based operation. According to ISPR, operation was initiated from March 15 to intercept terrorist group operating in South Awaran. Terrorists were linked with incidents of firing and detonation of IEDs along Turbat-Awaran Road and its surrounding areas, it said.
