Unusual relationship of married couple in historical drama ‘Killers of Flower Moon’ could have been left as just small part of Martin Scorsese movie about dark time in American history.
Star and executive producer Leonardo DiCaprio said that he alongside fellow producers decided to centre film around ‘Twisted’ but true love story of Ernest Burkhart, white man and Mollie, Osage woman that he married, to help drive home human toll.
“When we made shift to making Ernest and Mollie centerpieces of story...it seemed like dynamic shift,” DiCaprio, who plays Ernest, told Reuters.
“We flipped whole story on its head,” Oscar winner added. “We got to not only explore this very twisted relationship, we got to explore Osage and Osage community and how they were affected by all of this.”–Agencies
