ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) while taking notice of matter of resignation and appointment of Attorney General (AG) has summoned Law Secretary along with record on January 17. Justice Qazi Faiz Isa has remarked how country is running without AG. You don’t know name of new AG.

A two members bench of SC presided over by Justice Qazi Faez Isa released order. Justice Qazi Faez Isa issued order due to non-provision of assistance by Deputy Attorney General in property case.

Justice Qazi Faez Isa while addressing DAG Shafqat Abbasi remarked, “We are not being provided correct assistance from attorney general office in cases. Tell us who is attorney general. DAG Shafqat Abbasi told court Ashtar Ausaf is Attorney General.

Justice Qazi Faez Isa remarked Ashtar Ausaf has resigned and his resignation has been accepted. Who is new attorney general? DAG said, “I don’t know.”

Justice Qazi Faez Isa called Additional Attorney General Amir Rehman on rostrum and asked him who new attorney general is.  Additional Attorney General also expressed his ignorance about Attorney General.
