After tumultuous few years, 81st edition of show is back in prime time. In 2021, Hollywood Foreign Press Association, organisation responsible for handing out for awards, came under fire after an investigation noted there were no black members among 85 voters. After fallout, H.F.P.A. was dissolved, and NBC refused to air 2022 event. Show was back on-air last year, but was pushed to make room for football.
