Historic MoU signed between Governor Initiatives and UoK

KARACHI: In a groundbreaking ceremony held at the Governor House, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Governor Initiatives and the University of Karachi. This historic agreement aims to empower 50,000 youth with free IT training, providing them with a competitive edge in the global job market.
The MoU was signed in the presence of distinguished guests, including Federal Minister of Education, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Consul General of Oman, former Federal Minister, Amin ul Haq, and Sheikh of the University, Professor Khalid Iraqi.
Under this initiative, successful students of the IT classes will receive certification from the University of Karachi, opening doors to new opportunities and career prospects. Governor Tessori emphasized that this program will enable students to earn between $10,000 to $15,000 per month after completing their certification.
Currently, students undergoing training are already earning between $600 to $900 per month. The Governor expressed his commitment to providing free certification programs from Google and Microsoft, further enhancing the employability of these young individuals.
The Governor Initiatives program has received an overwhelming response, with over 5.2 million youth from across the province registering for the IT courses. Of these, 50,000 students are currently receiving free IT education at the Governor House, while over 4.5 lakh students are being imparted online education.
This initiative is a testament to the Governor's vision of transforming Karachi into a vibrant IT hub, providing youth with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the digital era.
