Hindus to get advance salary on eve of Diwali

KARACHI: On eve of Diwali, Sindh government decided that full pay and allowances/pension for month October 2022 shall be paid in advance to its all Hindu servants/ pensioners, including work-charged and contingent paid establishment on October 20, 2022 instead of November 1, 2022.

It may be noted Diwali is one of major festivals celebrated by Hindus and Sikhs. Festival usually lasts five days, or six in some regions of India and is celebrated during Hindu lunisolar month Kartika between mid-October and mid-November. One of most popular festivals of Hinduism, Diwali symbolises spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance".
