Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, has delivered his first public speech since the beginning of the conflict in which Israel is conducting an assault on the Gaza Strip.
Nasrallah emphasized the significance of the ongoing conflict, describing it as a multifaceted battle with deep human, ethical, and religious dimensions. He stressed the importance of unwavering commitment to their cause as the source of their strength.
He extended condolences and congratulations to the families affected by the violence in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, including those impacted by Hamas's operations inside Israel. He credited the decision to launch these operations as entirely Palestinian and highlighted the secrecy surrounding them.
Nasrallah expressed gratitude for the involvement of Iraqi and Yemeni groups in this conflict. He characterized the battle as being solely for the Palestinian people and unrelated to broader regional issues. He also noted that the October 7 attack had exposed Israel's vulnerabilities.
He commended the timing and wisdom of the Palestinian group's decision to launch the Al-Aqsa storm and criticized Israel for its inability to achieve significant military success during a month of conflict.
Nasrallah described the ongoing situation in Gaza as a decisive battle unlike previous wars, emphasizing the need for collective responsibility. He outlined two primary goals: ending the war in Gaza and achieving victory for Hamas.
He also provided insight into Hezbollah's involvement in the conflict, mentioning their participation from October 8 and the importance of daily exchanges of fire along the Lebanese border. He confirmed the loss of 57 Hezbollah fighters.
Furthermore, Nasrallah called for collaboration among Arab and Muslim countries to halt the war in Gaza. He noted that Hezbollah's operations have been escalating and have pressured Israel to keep its forces near the Lebanon border rather than the Gaza and West Bank areas.
