HEC should conduct seminars in varsities to highlight May 9 event: Gov Tessori

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori said that without doubt, it is not possible to create developed society without higher education. University graduates are playing significant role in development of country. Present conditions of country require unity, determination and faith.
Addressing electric wheelchairs distribution event under Prime Minister’s Scheme at Governor House he said it is third phase of this programme. Establishment of Primary Education Commission and training of 5 to 8 year old children is necessary. Kamran said that doors of Governor House are always open for students of universities. Conspiracies were hatched, armed forces buildings and symbols of father of nation were deliberately destroyed, he said.
He said that Libya and Iraq are suffering from chaos today due to weak forces. He said that enemy knows that defense of nuclear country of Pakistan is in hands of Pakistani forces and as long as relationship between forces and people, there is no harm in homeland.
He emphasised that Higher Education Commission should organise seminars and workshops in universities and inform students about events of May 9 in seminars and workshops.
Earlier, in briefing on behalf of Higher Education Commission, he said that 365 students have been given electric wheelchairs in first two phases, while 31 students from Sindh have received electric wheelchairs. In third phase, total of 235 electric wheelchairs will be given, of which 15 are being given to students studying in universities of Sindh province.
Executive Director of Higher Education Commission Professor Shaista Sohail, Director of Higher Education Commission Javed Memon and others were present.
Meanwhile, three member Korean delegation and Governor discussed diplomatic relations, measures to increase them, investment opportunities in Sindh and matter of interest, He said that increasing mutual economic relations is in interest of both countries. Kamran Khan said that Karachi is economic hub of country and there are favourable investment conditions in energy, health and education sectors.
Korean investors can invest in these sectors. Korean delegation said that Korean investors are interested in investing in various sectors. Muhammad Afzal Farooq, CEO of ITN Group of Companies was present.
