Hassan Niazi acquitted in sedition case

KARACHI: A local court Karachi acquitted Hassan Niazi nephew of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan in case for inciting people to revolt against national institutions.
District East Police produced Niazi before judicial magistrate in Karachi (East) in case lodged against him on complaint of citizen named Muhammad Iqbal in Jamshaid Quarters Police Station.
After hearing arguments, court discharged Hassan Niazi from charge of sedition and issued release orders. Police took custody of Hassan Khan Niazi after an anti-terrorism court granted his two-day transit remand to Sindh police.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Hassaan Niazi and his accomplices had been booked in separate case in Karachi for inciting people to revolt against national institutions.
According to text of FIR, Hassan Niazi was involved in inciting people to revolt against national institutions and attempted to provoke disharmony in video on social media. Statement has created anger and distress among masses, FIR said.
