Mukhtar Ahmed Butt expressed Ramadhan is month of mercy, sacred time to seek forgiveness from Allah for our mistakes and errors. Merely mentioning Allah and seeking goodness and mercy for ourselves during this holy month is not only an act of worship but also there is need for commitment to combat hoarding, fraud, corruption, exploitation, looting, selling of fake medicines and other ills of society. Avoiding all wrongdoing and holding those responsible accountable is path to gain blessings of Allah. On 27th of Ramadhan, Allah Pak blessed us with gift of Pakistan. We must be humble and thank Almighty for this.
Usman Damohi said that Muslim traders shoulder dual responsibility during Ramadhan. Firstly, strict adherence to ethical and trade principles mandated by Islam. This includes maintaining courteous conduct in buying and selling, refraining from hoarding, avoiding mixing of goods, preventing illegal profiteering, transparently disclosing any defects in goods, ensuring accurate measurement and weighing, and abstaining from making false promises in sales. Secondly, it involves abstaining from ctions that diminish the rewards of fasting for Muslim, such as lying, backbiting, indulging in meaningless conversations, swearing, engaging in idle talk and participating in activities contrary to Shariah.
