Karachi: Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeemur Rehman visited Alkhidmat Karachi’s Skill Development Centre at PIB Colony and met students studying various courses. He was accompanied by Director Mawakhat Alkhidmat Karachi Yousuf Mohiudeen and senior officials. Skill Development Centre imparts free technical training courses to semi-literate youth to help them learn professional trades such as Electric Maintenance, Tailoring, Mobile Phone Repairing and Solar Power Installation. New Industrial Automation course has been started recently. Hafiz Naeem encouraged students and urged them to learn their trades well, which would help them get decent employment and support their families. He lamented fact that despite abundance of skilled youth, there was lack of employment opportunities which was forcing people to leave country and seek opportunities in foreign lands. He said that Alkhidmat had decided to come forward and help youth by imparting them hard skills that were in demand. SDC was one such initiative and Bano Qabil free IT courses programme was another where thousands of youth were enrolled in latest IT courses. Yousuf Mohiudeen encouraged students and disclosed that nearly 70 percent of students who had passed out from Skill Development Centre had managed to get employed while others had established their own businesses that have helped them to earn respectable living for themselves and their families.

He said that new courses would be added soon and highlighted that such efforts were possible only through assistance and generosity of Alkhidmat’s donors and supporters. He called upon those with means in society to come forward and help Alkhidmat in such activities which benefit individuals and society as whole.
