Dubai: People are hailing the cricketer's Naseem Shah’s heroic T20 debut and compared him to Shaheen Shah Afridi.

The much-anticipated Asia Cup match between Pakistan and India may have resulted in a loss for the Men in Green but a silver lining was that the country discovered a diamond in the rough. Naseem Shah bowled his way into everyone’s hearts as he played with all his might, despite falling to the ground in pain.

The young bowler’s fandom has increased tenfold and we’re here for it. Chasing 148 proved to be a topsy turvy affair, with the Men in Blue rocked in the very first over bowled by debutant Naseem Shah, who got rid of KL Rahul and brought back memories of last year’s T20i World Cup clash when Shaheen Shah Afridi had done the same. Saying that Afridi’s spirit had overtaken Shah, Twitter users poured in their admiration for the latter.

Even singer Asim Azhar couldn’t help but see the resemblance. The outcome may have been disappointing but the performance has cricket lovers bursting with pride. There was unanimous applause for Shah who carried on despite pain from cramps that took him down.
