Karachi: Islamabad Police in move has arrested fake Deputy Chairman of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) who was actual grade 18 employee of Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council (PVMC), according to reports reaching here.

Zarak Khan, grade 18 employee of government institution, along with his two brothers including Ikram Khan etc has been introducing himself to people as Deputy Chairman NAB. Accused have also put green number plate, flag and revolving light on government vehicle to pretend NAB official.  As per case registered by I-9 Police Station, accused first called Ahsanuddin Jatoi from official number, introduced himself as Deputy Chairman NAB Sohail Nasir and directed him to resolve his conflict immediately with Dr. Akram.  After that, accused called from Akramullah’s personal mobile phone and threatened Ahsanuddin’s wife. Shabnam Jatoi with same motive and said that if conflict is not resolved they would face consequences, FIR said.

Background of this incident is that Shabnam was expelled from Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council against rules and she has challenged decision before relevant forum. At same time, corrupt people of Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council recruited Zark Khan as Deputy Registrar in grade 18 against law, which was separate scandal.  To free their alleged benefactor Dr. Akram, who is currently President of Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council, from case of Shabnam Jatoi, brothers impersonated Deputy Chairman NAB and used vehicle with official number plates and official flag for nefarious purposes. Some calls were made from official number and some calls were made from mobile number of Zarak Khan’s brother Ikram Khan. Ahsanuddin Jatoi, husband of Shabnam Jatoi had observed these calls as suspicious, so accused were easily caught by police.  Police officers of concerned police station said that accused have committed many other incidents and investigation is ongoing and they will get remand accused from court. Deputy Chairman NAB Sohail Nasir is retired session judge and is remembered as an excellent judge.
